What's the proper for glovebox alignment?

If there is one thing that absolutely bugs me, it's the glovebox. I've replaced it once before as the original one was in pretty bad shape. But, I must have not aligned it properly because sometimes it wouldn't shut easily, and would require some extra force. So, the lates was the glovebox latch getting stuck to the point that it wouldn't open w/o me destroying the glovebox lock carefully w/o damaging the glovebox itself.

So, what's the process to get this just right? I want it to lock and unlock easy and not have uneven gaps on either side.

I dunno Jean, it's pretty straightforward. There's only 3 screws in the back, maybe the holes in the bracket are slotted?

Sure it will. The holes on the hinge are slotted.

i had the exact same issue.

the first time i tightened the bottom 3 bolts first then tried to latch it, and when it latched there was way to much tension on the latch the way i had it aligned, so it wouldnt reopen.

what you need to do is latch it first, then align it at the bottom so there is no tension on the latch, and you should be good. pretty much just make sure the bottom brackets aren't slid too far back.

I've had too many of the same issues myself. Currently my glove box is stuck closed, not sure what to do about that. I have had to replace that damn latch, what, twice now in six months.

Here, now this thread can be in members rides!

I think I need to adjust the height of my dash... I replaced the glove box lock, tried to move glovebox a little but it made no difference.
