Thanks. It's a pretty simple thing, but takes time to do it well. Just finished the other door panel and will do the rear panels tomorrow.

PS: I meant alcantara. It was late last night. :)

Looks great man! One question: What did you use for backing on the inserts? Did you take any shots of that process you would be willing to share? Looks like you really took your time and did it right.

Did you spray your door pull and map pocket with the same stuff? How tough is it? I painted my map pocket with fusion paint for plastic and it went down wonderfully but my inconsiderate passengers have kicked the shit out of it and scuffed it back to tan. The same paint didn't dry after 2 days on the rubber door pulls, guess it really does need to be sprayed on plastic. It was stick tacky so I used 3 coats of regular clearcoat on it. Now its sealed and doesn't stick to your hands when you touch it but it's too shiny. Could try cleaning it and going over with a satin clear, but if you like the stuff you used I'd start all over again with the vinyl paint ....lemme know :)

the quality of the job looks great but i think the overall effect looks kind of plain compared to the stitching on the oem leather, but definitely some quality work indeed, woulda been sick if you coulda kept the stitching and made if in alcantara

Thanks... used really thick picture matting. You can get it at Hobby Lobby. Was on sale too. No other pics than the ones you see there though sorry.

Thanks and yes, I sprayed the pulls and map pockets as well. The pulls came out 100% perfect... lol my brother in law saw them and wanted to know where I found new OEM pulls. The pockets I sprayed outside because the wife's car was in the garage while she was working on ti. Soooo... the humidity made that come out less than perfect, but still looks good.

I have vinyl doors, not leather so there is no real stitching to speak of. I had thought about doing foam behind the suede to provide the same pattern, but after seeing other threads on here and e30tech I preferred the plain panel look for a more understated appearance.

Great job on the panels. Did you use an automotive grade micro? if not make sure you get some UV treatment spray and get a good coating all over it. If you do not the sun will fade it quickly.

Kevin, Thanks very much for the input. I was hoping you would chime in on just that issue. Where can I get and what should I use for the UV treatment? I have really dark tint (22% front, 5% eyebrow, and 5% rears) and always use a sun shade if in a place for more than 20mins.

Thanks for pointing me in the right direction. A set of your seat covers is still on my wish list for the not to distant future. Would I be able to send you a swatch of the suede I used so it could be matched (color wise) for the seats? I think I remember reading you could... but my memory is terrible so...

Sure send me a sample when you are ready. As far as UV treatment goes, I have not used any. However I have heard this stuff is not bad. Test it on a piece of scrap first to make sure there are no weird reactions.
