    Starion Turbo Leather Seats

I currently have the early model black non-sport e30 seats. Great condition but they sit extremely high and if you were to slide two or three of them together and put a cover over them it would remind me of the bench seats from a 1940-70's GM product. They have virtually no side support and sit awkwardly high.

I've been looking for sport seats in good condition or getting a pair recovered but either way would be more than I want to spend. Finding sports seats in the condition of my current seats would probably cost me another 24v swap lol!

So one day wandering through a junkyard I see a beam of light from the sky shining down on this perfect turbo Starion. Not knowing anything about them other than the seats being really attractive and comfortable and knowing their parts are a goldmine I called a friend for advice. A $57 investment netted me seats, taillights, and the metal nose center panel. Not including the seats, I now have $250-300 worth of parts to sell. The seats would fetch $250 on a Starion/Conquest forum in their condition so technically I got about $500 in parts for under $60. My friend went the next day and for $150 he got the engine that happened to have $800 aftermarket cams in it and a rebuilt turbo.

Now I could sell it all and pick up some sport seats or I could simply rock the Starion Turbo seats while pissing off all the BMW & Starion purists. I like the way they feel so I've chosen the latter lol! All I have to do is cut the feet off the lower bracket and spot weld the flat e30 feet in the exact same spot. These seats put me several inches lower than the originals and they even have adjustable upper and lower side bolsters...

I'm really not a fan of them either so looking for a different head rest, probably something solid.

I like them for the way they sit more than anything. Don't have a clue who made them, stanceworks seats lolol...they're so low you can't even get a sheet of paper under them yet they still slide back and and forth.

I can't wait to permanently mount them, dye the carpet black, swap in the nearly uncracked dash, and get the CF door cards on with synthetic suede uppers. Rear panels and shelf are already wrapped and installed but still debating on what to do with the rear seat...or just put carpet in it's place.
