New to e30s so need some help, What is this, it says airbag on it, in the spot where some cars have a check panel.

Not missing the cover, thats the backside of it. Front is just solid black plastic. Plug is also different then the one that goes into the "check" panel.Comment

Are you sure it hasn't been painted black or had a black piece glued in?
You have two bulbs there, the seatbelt and airbag lights are not bulbs, but led's on the board.
Do you need it, no. Was it probably covered after somebody got annoyed at the srs light being on, yes.sigpic

yeah if i take the board off the back now i can see where it says SRS but the front doesn't look covered, looks like it came that way, but its hard to tell. I'm just going to stick a non working check panel in its place.Comment
