Corbeaus vs e30 M3 Sport seats

I have both. the Cardinal E30 M3 seats are currently in the car.

I was wondering the weights of each if you knew them, and also, where I can find some brackets for the corbeaus.

sport seats are about 50lbs each. doesn't take much to get lighter than that.. at least they're not as heavy as newer seats!

I like Corbeaus seat as much as the next guy and I love my sports seats in my e30., weight wise most aftermarket seats will be lighter than stock as mentioned above. That being said, I'd also like to add that I don't use my car for the track or autoX it's my DD and comfort is what I am all about.

So my vote, if there was a pole I would say (sports seats FTMFW)

If you are looking for mounting hardware, they will need to be Corbeau-specific as the Recaro stuff won't work. Corbeau litterature claims the following in regard of the mounting:

"13" from front to rear, and 11 3/8" from side to side."

              - 13" (front to rear) = 330,2mm
              - 11.375" (side to side) = 289mm

Not even close to most Recaros - KRX, Speed, SRD, L Serie
              - front to rear = 261mm
              - side to side = 406mm
Which was confirmed by Recaro's litterature, and measuring of actual seats.

                ahhah, good plan..

and lee, Thanks! Im just hoping there was some dude on the board making corbeau brackets, I may be the first then....

I think bucket seats are pretty comfortable. they have nice padding in them. and less weight is always a plus.

These are the e30 M3 cardinal sport seats made out of leather so I would assume they are heated from the chord hanging under it, maybe makin em heavier... hmm.

I have made a batch for Recaros. If you can come up with a minimum of 10 orders, I'll make them for your Corbeau ;-)

Seriously. My MkII Recaros weigh at least 10 lbs. less than my sport seats did.

Two corbeau trs seats in one shipping box with lots of padding etc is just under 69 lbs total. So that means they are about 30 or so lbs each. This is w/o sliders/brackets.

I'll weight them when I get new sliders/hardware.

Warranty, you need to be original owner, have paperwork etc.. I paid for shipping both ways + extra to get mine in suede.
