I'm doing this process for the third time. It's not really that hard to paint but I'm really, really not looking forward to the install process. Last time I installed carpet it was Mid December (much like approaching now) and I was outside in snow shoes.
    Need a part? PM me.

How do all these look after a few months? They look great in the photos and I'd really like to do mine, but if the paint comes off on my shoes, or it starts to fade quickly, it doesn't seem worth it....

So far it seems people are getting good results using duplcolor or sem paint. In Toronto here I contacted a trim shop and tells me there is no dye that will let the carpet be soft after application. He also said that it is difficult to go from beige/tan to black because the paint/dye doesn't get down to the roots of the fiber.

ok, I am skeptical to his opinion regardless of being in the industry for 30 years.

            1) does it stay soft after the various techniques to dying?
            2) will it fade after some time?
            3) can this be dyed while in the car with most of the interior removed?
            4) does it get to the roots of the fiber so you don't see below the coating?
            5) where can I get it in Toronto -as Home depot, Rona and various other big brand stores don't carry fabric paint up here.

a pm would be easier for me.

            thanks.

I can get kits any color - they are high quality carpet (just as nice if not nicer then oem) and pre formed. All you need is a little time and a little heat to put them in.

Oh and ceeker how about you dont "cheap out" and do it the right way. Isnt that along the lines of what you were telling me? Doesnt your car "deserve a proper restoration"?

Does this go over the OEM carpet or dose it replace the OEM carpet?

Whats the cost on this? Any photos?

I used brydana colorbond skid mark black, wicked durable, aside from wiping it with lacquer thinner I cant even get it to come up with a scrubbing sponge, gotta order it online though, but i do think they sell their vinyl dye at bass pro
