What is the consensus on these dash covers?

Search didnt give me what I was looking for and skimming the other dash cover thread seemed like the topic was mostly the carpet dash covers. Id be interested to know if these dash covers are decent or if they rattle/just look tacky.

I've seen a few in person, and they NEVER fit as good as they do in the pics. They're always slightly warped, the color is off, and they just look cheap.

          yuck

used dashes aren't that expensive. it's supposedly not that awful to swap them out, but it seems daunting.

I have done 2 dash swaps before. Both on MK2 VW's. Dash swaps don't get too much easier than on an old VW. Those swaps were completely managable. I was parting out a 1995 Acura Legend though. Wow, forget about removing the dashboard! They concealed the fasteners for that thing all too well.

The depressing thing about buying a used dash is the thought that it could easily crack a week after installing it. My car did not have a cracked dash when I bought it, then out of nowhere on a 50 degree day, the cracks all happened.

Personally I think you get from eBay (or most any shell belt) is a bit fragile. Were made to fit the dash to hide the existing cracks and such. If you want a good line, you may have to spend a lil. Cash. These plastic caps from the same slot. My not stay on the right side of the glove box over the region without glue hard cement. Even then, the edges crack really easy!

I have installed one in a client's car before. It is just ok.

Doesn't fit that well, but it is certainly better then having huge cracks running down the dash like Freddy Kruger fucking tore that shit up one night when you parked on Elm st.

There was one installed in my car when I bought it. Fits pretty well, but definitely needs some double sided tape to make it sit right. I don't use it because I think it's uglier than my cracked to hell dash.

If anybody wants it let me know, I'll let go of it fairly cheap + s/h.
