I am dying stuff in my friend's E36 on Saturday with VHT. I will let you know how it goes. I have used the Duplicolor vinyl dye in my car and it looks superb, and is holding up good.

Thanks, the local parts store has duplicolor dye, so you recommend it for the headliner/door panels/rear parcel shelf?

I am not sure how it would come out on the clothe of the door panels and the rear shelf. I only painted my door pulls. If you do your headliners, let me know how it comes out, because I want to paint mine as well. We are dying my friend's carpet though so on Sunday I will let you know how it looks.

To ellaborate further: we painted some big parts, like the rear shelf and the dash. The dash came out great. I wouldn't recommend it on clothe surfaces though, at least not fuzzy ones. You could probably do the clothe on the door panels fine. But the rear deck didn't come out as good as we hoped. You could do the headliner in it, it will just be hard to do such a large, flat surface and have the paint come out even. I'd probably take 2 cans to do the headliner. We used 5 and a half cans of it yesterday.
