    Suede Mtech 2 Wheel questions

    Hi there,
I did my searching, couldn't find anything on the topic. I just got a brand new Mtech 2 suede EVO steering wheel. Does the suede need to be cared for/conditioned in any way? I love the look of it, and don't want it to wear out early, thanks.

Of course it does and over enough time it will wear and matte down no matter how many times you brush it. So many opt for the long lasting leather version. I suppose you could brush it weekly and try not to touch the wheel in the same spots too much. The suede E3 version looks great when fresh but when it's used it looks...worn.

I don't drive the car much, so hopefully it stays fresh longer.

as lame as it would look, maybe a sttering wheel cover might help it last, just take it off for shows, photoshoots and drives?

Those wheels are made to be used with gloves no? I would just get the leather one. The suede ones always ends up looking grubby unless you care for it very well.

Doesnt matter. Bmw uses cheap alcantara fibers in their cars that dont affix to the base material very well. Your bEst bet is to professionally reupholster with stronger suede once it wears down. I had a full suede interior in my e46'interior. Any friction simply destroys it

Do you even know what suede is? It doesnt sound like it.

OP, it will matte down and look like half wiped ass. You are best to either get the leather one, or have 2 variants and only put the suede one on for 'looks' times.

He already has the wheel guys. Maybe Mariano will chime in. He's had a suede wheel on his car for years. I know he has a special brush for it, which helps freshen it up. Perhaps gloves will help keep the oils and dirt from your hands from getting on the wheel but it will still wear.
