E36 Vaders in E30 - looking for pics

    Hi Guys,

I've run some searches for vaders, and found quite a few people here have them in their E30s...plus there was a handful of pics, but most were dead links etc, or didn't capture the vaders particularly well.

I might have the opportunity to get a set of vaders, but whether I go down that road depends on how they look etc...basically I have the choice of vaders, or re-trim my E30 sports seats.

So, I was wondering if any people have some good pics, could they please post them, or post some links for me?

    Cheers!

    Drew.

I had the option to buy a pair of vaders, and decided against them as they don't fit the theme of my car, however in Jordan's they look awesome imho.

Yeah I think they look right at home there!

The ones that have come up for sale are a lightish grey suede/cloth...and I already have a light grey interior...so I kinda they'd look good. It's hard to know unfortunately...it's not exactly a small amount of money to use on testing things out!

Also from what I have heard the power vaders (IE power sliders and everything) do not fit in an e30.

would you really consider spending $1500 on a pair of vaders? plus modifications to make them fit. Unless you are getting a stellar deal, i cant see any point, put the money towards getting your engine in :)

You could always try looking through the galleries here, might see something www.2002bmw.com
Just a little project im working on

I'm definitely considering it...plus it's for a complete interior, not just the fronts (and the modifying part is kinda fun!). But putting the doh towards the M52 is a good point. Thing is, my interior is bugging me, and the re-trim I'd like, in a perfect world, is $3500. The M3 interior is a cheaper option.

Id love a retrim too but i cant justify spending $1500 on a pair of used seats. no matter how i look at it, something just makes me ill thinking about that.

What can you use out of the full interior though? front and rear seats? door trims wouldnt be any good would they?

If you do, ive got dibs on your sport seats :D (edit: or ill ban you :P )

Well, unless we all bought our E30s brand new, they came with used seats :D So that doesn't really worry me.

As for what I can use from the E36, I think certainly the seats (F&R) could be used. The door cards would require a lot of creativity, but it'd be iffy as to whether or not it'd work. Harder things have been done I'm sure! Would be cool if it could be done though.

Here's my profound notion...I have E36 wheels, an E36 engine to put in, and now I'm talking E36 interior...notice a pattern????

It would seem that way wouldn't it! :D

I love the E30 shape...so I guess I'm kinda just keeping the old school styling I like, but getting some more modern features in amongst it at the same time. 8)

man, by the time your car is done it's going to weigh like 1500kg and you will have E36 handling to go with your E36 motor, E36 wheels and E36 seats :D

There is no way in hell you are going to get E36 door panels to fit an E30.

I'd say stick with recovering your E30 sport seats. It will be cheaper, fit the interior better, E30 seats hold you in place better than Vaders, and the seats are a lot lighter. Vaders weigh a LOT.

                          Weight is a good point!

I can't see re-trimming being cheaper....not at $3500 AUD. However, it's what I'd be the most happy with.

E36 door cards would definitely be optimistic...

Buy real seats. They're lighter and hold you better, big soft leather seats are for living rooms, not cars.

Go new recaro's! fixed back even, nobody sits in your back seat right? i dare you andrew :D

Ive never taken any notice of the E36 trims, if you could seperate them from the backing you could cut the trim and bend the material to fit the shape of the E30 door cards.

Im thinking about recovering mine but i might start from a piece of aluminium and screw it into the door like the ford does. The backing for my doors is shot, people removing it previously have bent it and it no longer holds its shape properly :(
