    Rearview mirror removal/install

How do you remove the rearview mirror in an E30? I found one with the map reading lights at a junkyard, and would like to swap the plain one in mine for it. I just can't figure out how it's attatched.

Also, from the same car at the junkyard, a 1989 325i, (smashed to hell) are a pair of black leather sport seats that appear to be in remarkable condition since the car faces north and gets no sun exposure on the front area. However since the car is smashed pretty good, the frames of the seats look kinda messed up. Would it be a hassle to straighten them out, because the leather on them is in quite good condition?

you could just take the leather off the seats, shouldn't take too long.

I may be wrong but I believe the rear view is connected via a spring pushing out metal tips on each side and that by applying a bit of downward pressure it will just come out (thats how my 2002Tii's mirror was attached).

      Anyone care to verify/correct this?

Yeah, the mirror is held on my spring loaded pins. Just grab a hold of the mirror, and pull down while rocking to the side to pop one side out. It should just come out now.
