    Anyone ever reupholster??

Has anyone ever reupholstered sport seats in there car. I'm trying to see how much it would cost to do the 2 fronts in new black leather and maybe even that back. I'm guessing it's going to cost 150-200 per seat to do it right. Does this sound right?

There is a tech article on this site about reupholstering seats. It does not mention any prices, but if you PM jordan he might be able to help.

it can be done for cheap but beware find a good place if you want it to look anything like stock alot of places end up making it look like a soggy diaper...

i would suspect that 250 a seat wouldnt be that far off from a decent one but more can be ex[ected depending on stitching and or custom options

Dont expect any less the $800 to get both front seats properly reupholstered in leather.

Of course it would.... go price fabric and leather....

fabric is sold by the yard, and if cheap cheap cheap

leather is sold by the hide, and isnt cheap.

gosh i hope that isn't true, wasn't interested in spending that much...it might just be worth it to have 2 perfect condition leather seats.

Every one of thier kits fits loose and sloppy. As such I think they are greatly overpriced. I'll pass thanks.

yea, i agree with jorden on the $800. my dad has been doing custom upholstery and convertable tops for about 29years now, and hes owned his own shop. 800 sounds about right.

I'm thinking of taking the seats down to mexico along w/ some leather, my dad thinks it will be way cheaper down there becuase of the labor...but i'm worried about the quality of the job. I would hate to get the seats back and have the leather saggy or the stiching poorly done. What do you guys think about this.

Go to El Salvador if you can. I have a friend that lives there and he told me the same thing due to labor costs, and they seriously do a good job. He has an Opel Corsa B and he says that everything is very good quality. Trust me they do a good job, I was reluctant to agree with him about that, but he showed me his car and what he had done to it. He says you can reupholster the entire car for $500 in any color leather, no joke.
                        Reminiscing...

Hm.. I'm no expert on this.

My dad got the front seats in our E12 reupholstered for 150$ a seat.
It is the material that looks like leather.. but isn't real.
We asked that the stitching be done in the same way it was on the seats..
They turned out awesome. We were really pleased.
I'm sure price and quality depends a lot on who you find to do it and where you live.

Jordan? Where did you get your info that they fit loose and sloppy?
