    HELP! Central Locking System Problems!

So I just picked up a 4 door e30. The guy gave me 4 keys. 2 which can start the car and open the doors (smaller keys), 2 which can ONLY open the drivers door (bigger keys).

I accidentally locked the trunk with the smaller keys. Now I the central locking system has locked everything and I can't get it unlocked. I managed to open the drivers' side door, but I can't get any of the other doors, or the trunk unlocked.

The ONLY thing I can think of is that I locked the trunk with the valet keys, and assuming that they are valet keys they won't give you access to the trunk.

So my question is, how can I reverse the central locking system to think that I UNLOCKED the car so all my doors are unlocked?

    HELP me please?

that smaller key won't unlock the trunk?

Make sure your drivers door lock is NOT horizontal.

yah, the drivers lock is vertical.

the smaller key won't unlock the trunk. looks like it has only 7 cuts instead of 10 cuts, which gives me reason to believe that it's a valet key. the smaller key won't even turn counter clockwise. it can only turn 90degrees clockwise.

it's not the drivers door that caused the problem. its the trunk. I locked the car at the trunk and now it's not letting me back in.

I know but the drivers door opens and unlocks all doors.I fixed my central locking system it was the small resister in the drivers kick panel.
put some wd-40 in the lock fidle with it you got it to lock so you should be able to jimmy it open than don't do it again

Doesn't seem like its a worn key problem. ill upload a picture of the keys in a few.

No the small key didn't break a piece off

As you can see, the 2 left keys are the small keys and the 2 right keys are the bigger keys. The 2 left keys look like they have about 3 cuts less than the 2 keys on the right.

And yes, the 1st key on the left is worn. It's the original BMW key.

I would use the large silver key it looks newest so should be best cut.
You locked it so you must be able to open it just will take some fiddling.

Tried the drivers door. I can double lock it but cannot get it to turn counter clockwise enough. The passenger side doesn't turn almost as if the door is double locked. the trunk will not turn counter clockwise at all, only 90 degrees clockwise. On my e30 at home I can still access the trunk even if the car is double locked.

I don't understand what exactly makes the car think its double locked. i ended up unbolting the trunk lafh and am going to mess with it during lunch to see if I can make it think I unlocked it with the key.

in the drivers door you have a dead bolt setting.remove drivers panel see if the actuator is moving up and down.listen at drivers kick panel to her a click at the central locking system.look threw the panel on door to see if the little spring and arm on side of lock broke off.remove panel on drivers side were speaker is.behind speaker on the bottom is a black box.open the box.there is a resistor that stands up with a small springy metal piece to the side.that piece is supposed to be soldered together if it is not than theres your problem.
I know my writings bad lol do a search there was a awsome how to on this.

One step closer. I went to the trunk, disabled the central locking system (for now) so I can still access the trunk.

Went to the front of the car, and decided to open the central locking system unit itself. Looks like someone has been in here before to resolder that connection on the capacitor. Also, on one of the switches it's melted pretty good. Looks like I have to pull it from the other 4 door and see what is going to happen.

I'll keep you posted. Thanks carfantiti for your patience and help! Greatly appreciated.
