My seats don't like to stay up when I put a bit of pressure on the back. I took the worse one out and took it apart to rebuild. I was wondering if replacing the springs on either side would keep that from happening. And should I just go ahead and replace the struts as well?

they don't stay up because the struts ( small shocks ) are toast. Replace them only.
the side mech rarely ever wear out or break.
I miss read his post: I believe his mech may also not be locking. but since he has the seat apart he might as well inspect and try them.
sorry for not elaborating.Last edited by Ceeker; 10-23-2011, 09:41 AM.sigpic -
I get the impression when the seat is in the upright positing - locked the mech isn't holding the seat back. then I would say it is the seat mech. possibly seat shock too. but heck! what do I know..lolsigpicComment

Well I know that my shocks are blown. It won't stay up when I pull the lever. But when I put any weight on the back of the seat, it wants to recline. Like when I go to get my id out of my wallet when I get pulled over, the whole things falls back and makes a clicks, like the mech is slipping. and I was thinking that it's just the spring on the side is worn out and not as strong.
