hmm no not sure but why would it be coolant ill go smell it lol
and isnt the elephant on the passenger side?Comment
-
Yeah it is, but it if is plugged -water can back up in the fresh air intake area and it will work it's way into the cabin eventually running down the drivers side heater box area under the carpet.
as mentioned - check for coolant. heater tap or core are quite common to leak after age.sigpicComment

yes but then wouldnt it have to run along the passenger side before it hits the drivers.....which it isnt doing? im puzzledComment

The heater control valve is on the left side, as is all the heater core plumbing.
Directly above your right ankle.
Care to ask me how I know?Comment

Damn that's goingto be a bitch isnt it and no Luke I don't doubt you one bit....so how hard is that to fix? But wouldn't if it's heater it would be coolant and my coolant is green?! Thanks and lmk if that does the trickComment

Well, yes, thus my question:
If you are certain it isn't coolant, and certain your elephant snout is (again, for 100% goddamn CERTAIN) clean, you are gonna be in for a shitty fix. Resealing the heater box to the body opening is a major pain in the ass 12+ hour job, not counting all the "while I am in here" time and money. I had 3 different leaks in my car, and I chased every damn one of them until my fingers bled and my head was bald.
Trust me, a leaky heater core is easier.
Leaky heater core is fun too. I had one blow on me. It was about 20 degrees out, too. All of the 180 degree coolant dumped directly onto my right foot...as I was doing 35 or so in heavy city traffic...the windows instantly went solid steam, as in opaque.
That particular failure really sucked ass.Comment

wow thats soo shitty and yes 100% its not green and i dont think i have an elephant on my car took it off to clean during the motor swap and never put it back on so not too sure what it would be and not looking forward to tearing the dash out if i do that ill take the heater out completley and wire in an electric one you put in your bedroom lolComment

Is your parking space level? You may wanna check your sunroof drains first.
Basically, you pull the dash, then pull the heater box and replace the gasket with top-quality foam weatherstripping.
That is a good time to pressure wash your carpet too...but then you get to let it dry.
Bummer, man...maybe check your windshield for leaks too?Comment

Thread jack along the lines
Whenever it rains, my rear passenger foot rest area gets wet. Someone mentioned a gromet from underneath may be worn but I doubt it because it only happens when it rains and any other time I've gonne over deep bodies of water, nothing gets wet, so what gives?
Good luck OP, hope Luke's help fixes your issues.@IRON-E30 aka Edwin:DComment
