Would vert seats be plug and play for a regular coupe? I've seen mixed opinions.

Yes, 100% interchangeable. Only difference in vert seats is they have a "limiter" built in that only lets them recline so far. This can be removed if you take the seat apart. -
Sounds good. Some black ones in 7/10-8/10 condition just came on the market. Glad they'll work out, thank you for the reply.Comment

What about early vs late? I picked up some sport seats and the bolts in the floor werent long enough to get the nut on over the mounting holes. Really cheesed me off....Comment

For what it's worth OP, I have '87 cabrio seats in my '87 is, didn't have a problem switching them over at all. Personally I prefer the stitching on cabrio seats vs regular sport seats as well.
This is good to know, I always wondered why my seats don't recline very far.Comment

Do you guys know if this limiter is mechanically or physically fastened? Time to bust out the angle grinder?!
EDIT: Last thread in search results says its a plastic tab, easily removed with a flathead.Last edited by Falconer; 01-31-2013, 11:15 PM.Comment

I believe the Cabrio seats allow a little less fore and aft movement at the tracks. There is a metal plate screwed to the bottom of the sliders than can be shortened (or maybe removed totally).
I've fondled enough seat hinges and was not aware of a plastic tab that limited recline on any of them. Any one have a pic or diagram of that ?Seat Shocks....I have passed the baton to John Christy from Ninestitch. Email John or Garrett at ninestitch1@gmail.com
