eBay Hub Adapter, anyone try it? Cheap alternative

It's a cheap chinese Hub Adapter, but it seems like it would work just fine. I know some of you will question skimping out on a piece that turns your car, but what are your guys' thoughts on this? Might order one, at $33 shipped, it's a very cheap alternative to MOMO hubs and the like.

Momo hubs are designed to bend/crush in an accident so the steering wheel will have some give and can possibly be reused with a new hub. Obviously this makes it more expensive. A solid hub won't have much give, so in an accident the steering wheel (and you) will take the brunt of the force. This is something to consider.

The only downside i see is that it's a chinese piece of shit that is taking away sales from a known, quality product that has proper engineering, etc.

I personally would like my future purchasing choices to not be limited to cheap, shitty, knockoff parts. Please support and purchase the quality products that you are proud of and represent your beliefs so those companies can stay in business.

Considering all the money I'm spending altogether on my e30 (also with quality parts, just spent $400 on adapters from 42 Draft Designs and buying Bilstein soon), I'm personally ok with saving a few bucks here and there. I do not have much spending money especially since I have two BMW's.

Yes, but that is a race hub. Kids today use NRG hubs to be cool and hip. The whole point to a 2pc hub is to allow room to get in around the cage(in a race car...). That casing on the Chinese one looks like a plastic whatever, or cast...

I still agree with Reelizmpro.

Once my cage is finished I will be switching to a NRG flush hub for more clearance. I have a fixed back seat, so it will help majorly with my height.

I feel like sometimes people think the more expensive the part, the more "legit" it is. This falls into the category of "cool and hip" as F34R was saying.

I literally have zero plans of making this car even remotely aggressive. Just something cool to cruise around in as a daily while styling it to my taste. Sometimes people (mainly track guys it seems) get really upset when someone prefers something for looks over function, which I can understand, but not everyone needs pure performance-minded upgrades. I want a more personalized steering wheel than the monstrous, loose rubber original steering wheel that I already have. I don't care whether it's attached by a $30 product as opposed to a $250 product which essentially serves the same purpose. If I had safety in mind, I would've bought a new Volvo. I just want to enjoy my e30.

That considered, you are paying that, what, $40 extra(?) for a well tested product. As you said before, steering isn't something to skimp on. You spent the extra money and got very nice adapters. Why? I assume because you wanted a superior product, that you knew would be tough and safe. The same goes for the steering wheel/ adapter. Just my $0.02

People with experience just took the time to give you genuine input on a thread you created because you just "don't know", which is totally fine, and now you're trying to justify you're ignorance by going against the proper answers you were seeking?

That hub works. I have 2 friends using it; Boss Kit hub.
I don't like it because its long/ugly and not a crush hub.

Thanks for the input, I guess I'm just trying to justify spending less on stuff because I'm spending so much money on everything else for both my BMW's. I know that's no excuse, it's just hard to spend the extra sometimes.

You're right. I actually appreciate you saying this. I'm deleting my last post, it's stupid. To be honest, I guess I was hoping for better answers, but I was half expecting this and can completely understand where everyone is coming from.
