    Excessive road noise, help!

Hey everyone I have getting a lot of excessive road noise when traveling 40mph+ and its coming from the rear of my e30. I do have the spring pads on my rear coilovers as well. Could it be the top hats for the shocks that are worn out? or suspension bushings? I have to turn up the radio to drown out the road noise. I am also on new falken 912s so I don't think its the tires. thanks if you can help!

If anyone has any ideas that would be super helpful. I feel like I have off road mud tires on my e30.

1+ on OPs question... I too am amazing shocked at the AMAZING difference between driving my e30 m3 and my e46 wagon.... I was thinking weather stripping on my car might need to be replaced. I can sometimes hear wind almost as if my window were open JUST A HAIR...

Are you sure none of the noise is coming from the differential?

I just swapped in a 3.23 lsd from a 99 m coupe, so not the diff for me. I feel like I get a good amount of noise from the engine bay and transmission tunnel. Would a worn out guibo add some noise?

Oh what the heck, no wonder I couldn't look at specific messages through my phone. I mistakenly made two accounts. Thanks for the headsup!

I was thinking the same as well. I was gonna place it behind the rear seats and around the rear shock towers in the trunk but i'd rather pin point the issue at hand rather than put a band-aid over an issue.

up or down. either way the road noise is very annoying

I have no clue, all I know is that its coming from the rear of my car at 40+ mph or when getting off a highway exit slowing down to a stop.

If anyone has any more suggestions please don't hesitate to comment. thanks!

The 40mph+ bit still points to diff noise for me, unless a CV joint on a rear half shaft has gone bad.
