Early Model steering wheel in Late Model car?

A deer tried to r3v my car a few weeks ago, and thankfully the damage to the exterior was minimal. However, my airbag went off and the steering wheel looks kinda shitty. I was given an early model wheel for free, but when I attempted to put it on there was a tiny bit of front/back play, and when turning the wheel it hits/clicks on something. Is an early model wheel possible in a late model car? I did switch the spacer around and played around with adding more, but none of that really helped.

You need to remove the white pin behind the wheel. It just pulls straight out. Then you need the correct spacer. I don't know the PN off hand, but just search "MTech I steering wheel in airbag car" and you will get the info.

Also, my car already has that spacer. Is that non-airbag specific? Not that that really matters but it seems strange.

You need an extra one of those spacers. Keep yours in the stock spot, then install non-airbag wheel, then another spacer, then washer, then nut.
