    Motometer/VDO: are they interchangeable?

Removed my wheel, removed/disassembled my Motometer cluster, replaced ODO gears, deleted inspection light bar, replaced all the old bulbs, reassembled, polished plastic to perfect clarity.... then dropped the whole thing on the floor. AAARGH!!! :letitout:

Plastic face is cracked, tabs are broken off. So I need a new cluster, or at least the case and I can swap over my instruments. Anyone know if VDO and Motometer clusters are interchangeable if I find a VDO? Or if a motometer speedo will fit in a VDO cluster?

Anyone know if the plugs are the same? What about the way instruments screw in: are all of the connections located in the same places?

Motometer and VDO speedos have exactly the same pins, screws so they are interchangable. As for cases-No they are not all the same. Late models have a cluster plug. Thus a different board with service lights etc. Others do not have a plug...and lens part doesn't mate with back part.
