    center console repair

so i picked up a damn near perfect 2 button hole center console out of an early model 318 at the junk yard today. Ive been looking for one with just 2 holes for a long time. (doesnt have the window lock slot). It was pretty faded/dirty but some armor all wipes has this thing cleaned up nice.

the ONLY fault is a dime size bubble in the tray forward the ash tray.

anyone have any advice to fix a bubble like this? i know its minor, but im picky.

You could try a heat gun to help "relax" the material. Bubble like that are caused by the material shrinking with age and pulling up. You will likely never get it perfect though.

How about getting and injection and putting glue in it
Not super glue, but some kind of upholstery glue
And sticking the needle between the vinyl and the cardboard and injecting a small amount of glue right underneath the bubble
And try to release a little glue as you pull the needle put so you can flatten the area the injection was in
Then Apply pressure to the area to remove the bubble and the line where the injection went in from.

I'd start with applying heat, to soften the area
Then put pressure on the bubble
Hoping it retains its shape when it cools

get a syringe, inject with adhesive, push the adhesive around inside the bubble until you can't feel any globs left, wipe the surface, and hold it down until the adhesive cures.

Don't inject a lot or else it will be wavy/bubbly after from globs of the adhesive sitting there
