    M3 rear seats

I am trying to put my car an a bit of a diet and im starting with the interior. I am wanting to know if the M3 rear seats are lighter than standard E30 seats and if so will they fit in a standard E30?

Is there anything you can recommend to lighten my interior apart from just removing it?

Remove all the sound deadening in the trunk and where ever else you might find it. What model e30 do u have?

Any amount of lightening you do to the interior will not be noticeable. Trunk tar is probably worth it, but otherwise, it's pointless.

                  2. Remove dead hookers
                  3. Clean stains

this^ if it id going to be your dd there is no point in trying to make your car lighter. taking out all of the tar you might lose 100 or so lbs but not enough to feel a difference

Sport seats are around 45lb a piece, so if you never have a passenger its worth removing. The only heavy item left would be your carpet and that is certainly not worth the discomfort of removing.

                        Install 318 interior carpet (15-20lbs)
                        Remove trunk tar (45 lbs)
                        Install fixed bucket seats (50lbs)
Run a mazda miata or motorcycle battery (15-30lbs)

You could also take a cloth back seat and give it a quick once over with fiberglass resin. Cut away the now hard fabric from the frame and cushions and make some aluminum mounting bracket. For best results and an additional coat and sand down and give it a smooth finish. Then give it a couple coats of vinyl dye or get some fabric to match your race seats and install with adhesive spray.

                            • you can remove the carpet,
                            • remove the sound deadening to drop some weight
                            • then reinstall the carpet.
