Install Rear Seat Armrest in Vert Seat

    hi,
has anyone ever tried to install a coupe/sedan back seat arm rest in a convertible rear seat?

i'm thinking of giving it a try.

i figure i need a donor seat back with armrest, which also acts as a ski pass thru.

i'd like to look into it for a sub i'm planning on installing.

    thanks

You still need to deal with the dual layer bulkhead and cavity behind the seat. G.A.S. has an excellent solution for this.

I did some research on this, except I was planning to widen the seat for use in a coupe as well. The regular armrest is too wide to fit cleanly in the middle. I was going to make my own armrest out of a block of really firm seat foam.

I see how your username might make you take on such an endeavor OP, but what your proposing to do is a lot more work than its worth. I don't think its possible unless you do what COKGBLR mentioned. Also don't forget about the bulkhead thats already mentioned before.

thanks for the replies and info.
              i really appreciate it all.
not trying to sound like a dbag....
i understand the double bulkhead is a big issue.
i have a plan and it is extreme and may even be stupid-hard and even stupid and hard.
the thoughts thats driving this whole thing is that i think that the seat will kill the bass too much.
so i thought the flip down pass thru would fix it.
but it maybe too much since the width in a vert seat would require major rework. which would be ok if it was the only option.
But I really like Cletonius idea. Which basically have a removeable 'plug' or 'block'
              Simple Solution....thanks man....excellent..

My plan is to install the sub [a whole other issue].
Then hog out, the tons of foam in the center section.
But I thought even if i made some ribs that helped hold the shape but didnt stop the sound waves....the sub would get muddy.
If there isnt any seat then there isnt anthing to interfere with the sound or air pressure waves or whatever the technical name for what a sub puts out,

I'm planning on using an Eclipse 12" DVC aluminum [cause i have it already] in a sealed 'box'.

But the idea of a removeable center section just saved me alot of time, money and hassle.
I want the car to look stock when its parked.

              thanks again
not to go gay but i love R3V

              so yeah....
