just curious... i want to attempt it... but its freezing still and disassembling plastic dash parts in the cold just seems cracks waiting to happen

it's not a red film, its in the crystal emulsion.

becuase i dont want a nak.. and there is NOTHING else that matches... i didnt buy the head unit for looks anyways... i bought it for the sound quality and feature set... it has a parametic eq, time correction, active crossover for my 3-way components, and xm...

this deck sounds unbelivable when set up right... i need another 1500 bucks in various stereo components to get it all installed and then some time on an RTA to get everything tuned

Alpine makes decks that change to amber.

most make a deck that at least the buttons turn to amber or red. Then you just turn all those graphics junk off and only have the buttons and song listed.

Or you can get a dodge, Ithink I had a Stratus rental once with green lights.

i am getting really sorry that i asked this question....

the deck i have is a high-end head-unit... not swiming dolphin crap that alot of the lower end stuff has... i went overboard with the green stuff yeah i will admit that.. but all i wanted to do really is change the obc to either white or blue but after going out and looking at it more closely tonight i doubt that is going to be a possbility....

but just to clear things up... the Alpine CDA-9815 is not color changeable and is not a deck that shows off with flashy animations and screen savers. Its a high-end deck and replacing it at this time is not an option

although... when you go into advanced settings on the hu it turns orangs and matches.... i wonder if could crack that open and swap the blue leds and red ones.... hmmmm
