Did they ever make an e30 front armrest without map pocket?

I am considering doing a map pocket delete but wanted to see if an armrest existed before I decide to hack apart the ones I have.

? The map pocket is a separate piece from the door pull/arm rest. The only hard part will be hiding the resulting holes in the door card.

    Edit:
Duh, you want to chop off the part of the pull that hangs down. Haven't seen it done.

I plan to reskin the door card to the holes are not an issue.

I was hoping someone made a replacement door pull so I didn't have to trim off the part that clips into the map pocket and refinish it.

Why refinish when you can wrap? It'll hide all the surgery and if you use a material that doesn't have a smooth finish it'll hide some imperfections in the finish.

When I said refinish I meant to say it will be rewrapped to match the door skin and seats as you have mentioned.

What about using e34 arm rests? They are similar to an e30, but do not have the connecting map pocket.

              Some even came leather wrapped.

Kind of wonder if those will fit... I wouldn't mind rocking map-pocket-less carss

Those might work. I would have to see how close the attachment points are compared to the e30.
