    Euro cluster isues..

    Good day all,

I purchased a euro cluster for my 325iC (USDM). I knew that I had to switch the gas gauge in order to have it read accurately but the econometer is acting up. As soon as the power is turned on, the needle goes to the right and stays there no matter how much gas is applied. Normally, the needle should return to zero while idling.

Do I need to swap the econometer from my US cluster and install it with the euro face?

Also, the euro came with a "almost dead battery SI board", I had to switch the board from my US cluster in so the service/inspection light would disappear. I know that board to be good since it worked in my car previously.

Please chime in if you know, my search of R3V and BF.C have turned up nothing.

    Thanks

So, I think that the SI board is specific to the cluster, euro cluster with euro SI board. I have order batteries for it and will replace them.

    Hopefully that fixes the issue.

The SI board is pretty much universal. The coding plug determines signal translation and provides output to the gauges.

Yes, if your SI board has the original batteries, and you experience non working gauges, you need new batteries.
