Made a rookie mistake, please tell me there's a solution.

So I just picked up a 90' 325i coupe after selling my vert in July and it's great and all except it has a beige interior. I started piecing together black interior parts and I found two damn near perfect black comfort seats from a sedan for a great deal. Seriously, they look brand new. So I bought them and took them home to realize that they don't lean forward to allow passengers into the back seat. I'm pretty mad at myself for not realizing this before purchasing them. So other than never having any passengers in the back seat, I can't think of any other options. Someone please tell me there's another solution. I would hate to not be able to use these super clean seats for this stupid reason.

If your stock seats were comfort seats, you could swap all the vinyl over. Otherwise, I don't think there is a way to make the seats fold forward.

only reasonable solution is to buy sport seats.

As mentioned above, that's the only realistic way you could do it

IIRC, the mechanism for the forward leaning is in all seats whether 4dr or 2dr, it's just that the 4dr ones are disconnected.

This sounds like the solution I was looking for! Can anyone else confirm this?

I do believe the hardware is identical. You will need the seat ropes as they are called plus the knobs etc and the back panels cut out. It's also a PITA to get the cables to engage on the levers on a comfort seat since the rod portion has to swing forward. On a sport seat you can work between the bolsters and centers

On second thought, since you just pulled the original seats you have everything you need including the perfect reference so not sure why this thread exists lol
