No joke, try shampooing your carpet and cleaning ALL the surfaces in the car. May seem obvious, but it helps.

                ozium FTW.

that shit is the best. a few little sprays, let it sit over night, and bam, clean. I smoke in my car, and before i have to pick somebody up who doesnt know i smoke, like a girl or somethin, i just spray some ozium in it, cruise over to her house, and she never knows. Ozium. good stuff!

In my last E30, I had one of those vanilla tree-deals under my seat, like Dave suggested. Works really well. I haven't done it in this car yet, but I need to. I had to replace the carpet, because there was something damp under the whole driver's side, and it had destroyed the foam and made the car smell like a wet dog. The car still smells like it some days, and it drives me nuts.

Buy a Kingpin blunt wrap (maple syrup), sell the wrap to your roommate, and then put the empty bottle in your car with the top off. It makes you salivate.

Bavauto ionizer costs around $24 IIRC. Mine has been in the car for about three years now. Money well spent IMO

I got them yesterday. I cracked one open and put it under the passenger seat. It seems to work VERY well. It seems to have taken all of the shitty 'old car' smells away and the slight scent that it releases is very neutral. I'm VERY pleased with them overall, especially for the price.

75 cent Wild Cherry air freshener from the local car wash under the seat. Damn thing makes me want an Icee every time I get in the car. :)

Don't know if you guys have seen them, but those air freshener spray tings at car washes aren't bad. When my sister was trying to sell her car back in HS, I helped here clean it out and we used one of those spray stations. Used the "new car smell" one. Worked pretty well.
