Sport Seat Disassembly Question

How do I remove the knob that moves the front part of the seat base backward and forward? Does it just pull off? I've tried pulling but it doesn't seem to want to budge. See in pic:

For the leg extension, yes its should be pulled off (use two flat heads). Im staring at a bare sport seat frame and there no other method of attachment other than friction and pressure.

A quick and easy trick if you have two hammers is to use the claw end of the hammers and pry on opposite sides of the knob. The knob will pop right off with little effort
