Just replaced my ODO gears, now my gas gauge doesnt work

After replacing my gears and getting my cluster all back together. I reinstalled it and everything works fine...except the gas gauge. It's not dead, it just reads completely full all the time now. This is annoying. What would have caused this from replacing the ODO gears?

I can atleast track how many miles I've driven before I approx need to fill up.

I did mine recently and once reinstalled my temp gauge was not working properly. Did a little searching and it turned out to be a grounding nut that that is on the back of the gauge that needed tightening. .

Interesting. I really don't want to take it all back apart but it's driving me nuts.

Bump. Anything else I should look for before I take this back apart? Can I replace just the fuel gauge?

Its the grounding nut. When the temp or fuel gauge has poor ground, it will show full hot. Very common on e30 clusters. Make sure there are the two washers on each gauge, one on the inside, one on outside.
