Hi all,
Just wanted to give a review of my experience with John at Ninestitch dot com.
I spotted his name in a couple threads but thought I'd start a new one dedicated to his work for him. I had some previous trouble with getting an order from other vendors and decided to give him a shot. Pricing was very fair but he was still newish here. He seemed to have a great passion for e30s when we talked as he had done several before. Plus he is doing some work for his own e30. I figured why not.
Throughout the whole ordering process he answered my countless questions. I changed my mind on materials about 100 times it seemed like. Each time he sent me pictures of what things would look like, if it effected cost, etc. He was very fair in talking through material cost and only charged what he needed for labor. I won't talk pricing here as I feel that's his choice based on what others need.
I decided to go with a cloth insert (don't want to burn my butt when the top is down in the summer) and vinyl sides with blue stitching throughout. He sent pictures as he progressed and always kept me informed on timeline even though I was in no rush. Winter in WI sucks for convertibles.
I can't speak to fit, but I know he uses the OEM kit, so as long as I don't screw it up installing myself I'm sure that it'll fit fine. I'll have them soon to look at up close and will update after I install. Here are the pics he sent me. Can't wait, they're going in a 1991 black exterior vert.
Thanks John!
Andrew
