M tech steering wheel horn differences..

Was wondering if anyone knew what cars the m tech wheels came with that had the embossed horns next to the horn buttons (see pic) and which cars had the wheels WITHOUT the embossed horns (see pic)...

Just curious. I would guess its a euro vs. NA cars, but would like to know. Is one more sought after than the other? Mine has no horns and I like it that way.

Huh, I didn't even know this was a thing! I need to check mine now.

Mine's from an E28 and has no embossed horns:

No embossed horns on mine and it came from a US car
so that means it's super rare and valuable right?

Its trending in the direction that horns are more uncommon..

Maybe different M cars of differing e codes? Maybe early v later m tech I production changed?

There were different mm diameters of m tech I wheels, right? Maybe that has something to do with it.

Good question. I don't know but I have come across both kinds on US spec cars. Perhaps it has to do with the manufacturer or the production date. I have an E28 wheel that doesn't have the horns. I have had E30 wheels without it too but I want to say my 88 M3 had the horns embossed.

A lot of '88 cars had the embossed horn logo for some odd reason.

Same thing applies to M Tech II wheels, some have 1 single horn embossed above center spoke, some don't have it.
