This is for sure Taurusrot/Ox. Cardinal red is more of any eye sore and looks artificial. Taurusrot is much more classy and toned down.2014 Alpine White 335i MSport

I completely agree ,very glad it is not bright red .I just checked the vin site my car is listed as having cardinalrot interior code 0256 the interior is original and very similar in color to the earlier posted photos the seat stitching is red as well.also it is listed as an "IS" model not ES.I took out the rear seat to check it for fading it is a consistent brown ish darker red even on the undersides it seems to be a mix of cardinalrot and oxblood ,very confusing but the vin check says cardinalrot.i just noticed that there are two different numbers for Cardinal red listed in the upholstery color chart ,maybe two different versions of Cardinal red.Last edited by 1843lamp; 01-13-2016, 07:58 PM.Comment

Spray your interior down with Lexol Leather Cleaner and then Conditioner. It'll change the faded look and brings back quite a bit of the original color.
You should be doing that every few weeks unless you want huge rips and cracks in your interior 4 years down the road. :-(AWD > RWDComment

my car was originally cardinal but the door panels and seats were painted black. When I redid the upholstery I noticed the underside of the original leather was a dark red, but when I took off the door armrest, the part of the door panel which hadn't been painted was bright red. It seems the color fades over time

it's a Kenny Powers quote on wheelsComment

I am planning to restore my seats in the summer, including reconditioning using one of several redye ones available ,I hear lexol is not one of the better conditioners to use ,one can spend several hours on the internet just investigating how to restore and preserve leather seats.Comment

Lexol has served my car pretty well... Maybe Griots has a 'higher quality' product?
