Momo Hub Issue 318is

Greg, the whole column has to come out for that... fair amount of work. I have a spare steering column from a parts car with good splines if that truly is the issue. -
Well I found that the Momo hubs I ordered worked fine on my buddies car. So it looks like my spline is shot.
Is number 1 the part I would need? Anyone swapped this before?

I put one on the 318is i had but it was a few years ago and i can't remember exactly what i did. I do remember grinding a bit and using some washers to space the wheel back. Sorry i can't be of more help.Leave a comment:

Okay, I ordered another Hub, thinking the splines on the first may have been messed up. If this new one doesn't work then obviously it's an issue with my setup. The old hub only went on 1/3 of the way and left about an inch gap between the hub and the steering column.

You need the stock spacer and then about half the width of the other spacer together for the hub to sit nicely on the splines and not get caught up. You don't need to remove the white pin if done correctly.Leave a comment:

Momo does not make a hub for your car, you have to do some modz for it to work.Leave a comment:

Momo Hub Issue 318is
Need some help. I've got a Momo 2006 steering wheel hub, and I can't get it to slide all the way on the spline. It goes about half way and then it feels like I would have to force it. The Mtech 2 I have comes on and off easily and I also know about the key/ignition lock and have removed the white pin. My car is a an airbag car (1991 318is) Any input is greatly appreciated.Tags: None
