Sport Seat Back - repair or replace?

    Hello E30 friends:

I need to get this fixed one way or another. What would you guys/gals do?

Should I have this fixed? Or should I replace the part?

I'm nervous that if I have it fixed it won't be perfect.

I'm nervous that if I replace it, the part won't be right. Is this the right part number for a 1991 318iS with sport seats? (52101924966) I just want to be sure before ordering an expensive part like this.

Please advise. Has anyone ever ordered this part before? Please see the attached photos for what has happened.

    Thanks!!
    Royal

Couldn't a local trim shop re-glue the vinyl for less than $50?

Heck you might even be able to re-glue it.

There are two tiny screws in the bottom of that cover you have to remove.
Once removed, you can push the cover upwards and off two internal hooks that keep it in place up top.

After that it's up to you whether you want to replace it for $180 or buy some adhesive and reglue it yourself :p

If you buy the adhesive, read the label or ask someone if it's able to withstand heat. I've had mine look like yours after a few months after doing it and had to buy the right spray afterwards. GL.
