    SpitFire Interior Thread

So this will be my first thread on R3v. Lets dive right in. Ive had my E30 for about 2 years and I've just about had it with my terrible sh*t quality redone seats. Im going to redo my interior since i have time and encouragement. Ive already taken the passenger seat out and dismembered it.

The pleather used is not fun on hot houston days with no a/c in a black car that overheats.

The back cover is cut at the handle slots so ill have to fix that.

The only rust on the rail is minor surface rust that i will hit with a wire wheel.

Im still the the process of how i want them to look. I will be doing all the work on my own to keep costs down as this is a budgeted project.
Here is a quick sketch of how i want to get the seats.

still on the fence about the carpet yall let me hear what you think about the carpet and seat.

Hahaha! I laughed so hard when I read that. Crtl+MouseWheelDown zooms out.

Ok i have a small update on the seats, i haven't been able to work on them a lot due to work being hectic and my spare time cut short most days. So i got 3 yards of thick cotton/canvas and heavy duty thread, traced the leather to get a template. each section is two layers thick so it will last longer and withstand abuse and use.

i had to reuse the insulated copper wire in the old leather to get that bead effect along the seam.
the inside of the thigh padding thing will have a diamond cross stitch pattern for more durability.

So far my biggest issue besides time is the sewing machine, it is quite old and tangles up the thread around the bobbin every inch that i go. so its an annoying stop and go process. i really dont want to buy a new machine because itll put me over budget, so ill update yall soon on how i plan to proceed with this slow process or a new machine.

You should really make the centers out of that Mexican blanket.

Seems like an interesting project though.
