Another sport seat repair question.. (yes, i changed out all the shocks)

So my seats don't really adjust for height or tilt. I just replaced all 4 shocks (350N for back rest and 450N for height), put everything together, and situation is still the same.

searched the internet far and wide, and only found info on reupholstering, replacing shocks, and lubricating the teeth/gears involved with reclining... couldn't find anything about height and tilt adjustments

    Any guidance?

Did you give the hinges a thorough cleaning and are you raising (for the seat back) and lowering (for the bottom) the back lever...and the bottom shocks are 450N ;)

Yeah... I cleaned things up and greased up the mechanisms... Works better, at least I can make adjustments now. And yes... My bad.. 450N.... Will correct original post now. :)

okay. so passenger seat works like a charm. but seems like no matter what i do with the driver's side.. the tilt doesn't work (front lever). the rear lever works, sort'a (it's REALLY stiff, takes lots of effort to pull up and press down), but lifting the lever DOES recline the seat and pushing down DOES enable height adjustment. so question:
        1) any way to make the rear lever smoother?
Nm. Cleaned and lubed the hell out of the gears... Everything smooth again
        2) what the hell is wrong with the front lever for tilt?

Your hinges are gummed up. with the hinge off make sure the mechanism where the return spring attaches moves freely (often they don't). Use degreaser in there then brake cleaner.

            thanks jeff,

so i was able to free up the rear lever (recline and height adjustment) by doing what you said... but what about the front lever?

Front lever just tips the seat front. You'd have to look at how it's put together to figure out why it won't move.

figured it out. there's a mechanism on the bottom of the seat on both sides. it was completely seized together. some lubrication and all's well

                thanks for the shocks!
