Sport Seat Pivot - Am I screwed?

I just received my newly wrapped sport seats back from the upholster and on the drivers seat I'm missing my pivot, in fact I had to cut a hole just to see if it was down there.

How screwed am I? Any suggestions? Other than raising holy hell with the upholster?

Here's what it looked like before:

Talk to the upholster. They should be able to fix it and will likely pay for it if they broke it.

That is some crazy shit, because it looks like they did more work for no reason.

So the upholster took the time to cut that metal pivot off and grind down the weld?

Seems too weird, do both passenger and drive seats have that pivot? Maybe they got switched with another job?

Your hinge fits on that pivot so I don't see how you can assemble your seat without it. Did you bring him the entire seat or did you hand him pieces to re cover ?

Either way he shouldn't be cutting anything. I think you need a bottom frame to transfer your foam and covers to.

It doesn't look like the same seat to me, unless they painted the stud. Scuff marks and paint chips are different.
