    Tilt/Telescope column for E30

Were there ever tilt/telescope columns available for E30's?

If I could pull the wheel out from the dash and lean the seat back another notch, I'd be more comfortable driving the car for long distances.

Has anyone ever transplanted an E34 or other later adjustable column into an E30?

E30s were never available with them, but I imagine that getting one our of an e34 or e36 and fitting it wouldn't be *too* hard, especially if you can weld.

Of course now that you mention it, I would expect that the E36 column would be easier to adapt than the E34 column.

Only certain years had adjustable columns on the e36. I also want to tackle this some day, but just have way to much already to do.

Interesting. That could work too, although it would probably be nice to pop the wheel up to get out of the car and back down when I need to engage in SRS BSNS.

How to Lower your E30 Steering wheel

Not quite what your looking for, but this is a video of what I did to lower the steering column and I absolutely love this mod.

The E36 column goes up and down. The '92 E34 column telescopes.

Is there a common column that does both? Do the later E34 columns do both? I infer that the later power adjustable E34 columns do both.
