an 85' with titanium valves, valvesprings, reatainers and an adjustable cam timming gear. its got no torque but its got some serious ponies in the high rpms. not as much as the 325i though.

I'm just curious, whats the fastest car you've ever ridin in or driven? Cause if the high rpms of an M10 318 feels THAT strong to you, then an e30 M3's top end would probably make you crap your pants.

hey i think my car is slower than shit, ive never driven a 325i (an e30) or an m3 (my dream car) i know they are fast but my car has some pretty serious pull in the high rpm compared to some of the other bimmers ive driven (735i, 735il, 633csi, and 2002). thats the reason why i bought an m10, you can a few titanium components and they they will redline really high (i dont know my cars redline excactly after i added all those parts). that and the m10 is fifty more times eaisier to work on, you gotta love em .
just curious all you 325i owners...have you ever driven a 318i? how much different is the handleing? because my car has a closer 50/50 balance and it is 600 pounds lighter. i was just wondering because im looking at a 325i 87' that i might buy but im not sure if the handleing will be the same. thnks

I've outrun several other 4 cyls up top, but I drive a 318iS, so bottom end sucks terribly and just about anything will get the jump on me. It's past 5k where I start to pull back on them.

Yea you 325i guys always picking on us. Etas are horrible for picking up speed while they are moving (wonder what that guy was thinking). I dont even bother trying tp speed up when other cars try to pull me, even if i downshift its not worth it. But ill run you from 1 gear to the bottom of 4th.. 80 mph is usually about when i start getting spanked.

ha this thread turned from gage rings to my cars faster than your car.
