the color is off on my dash that i did, BUT it matches the old skool VDO small accessory guages pefectly. That is the reason I did them with the noen in the first place, (bought the paint for my old touring like 5 years ago.

I have been here in germany for 12 years, abd have never seen a tach like the one Nico has, that piece is VERY rare.

I think it looks a million times better, much less cluttered. I don't think in the 5 years I've been driving E30's I've ever looked at that gauge to get actual information.

I might just see if I can get one of those strips.

I think the flash altered the color of them quite a bit, they don't look that shade in person.

I'll tell you what I'd like to find, a tach from an 83-83 euro 318i that didn't have the MPG gauge at all.

color looks off a bit, but it looks great!. i did mine 6 months ago with a thick red graffitti paint pen ( how ever you spell it) i swear the color was an exact match. for the fuel consumption gauge i dabbed the marker on a small peice of paper so it had a drop size amout of paint on it and then moved the mpg guage to the middle the most revealing point and just swabbed it on . i think i did about 3 coats on all of them.

We have a VDO cluster at the shop with 30k miles on it. I REALLY want to put it in my car.... That would raise the book value by what, a good $3000?

I did mne with a neon orange/red, and also did the analog clock at the same time, I digs it, and you can see it just fine at night.

you should knock 100,000 miles off your car while the cluster is apart to!!!!

Do you have any pics to post of what it looks like at night lit up?
I don't, as I haven't reinstalled the cluster yet. RCWells did his with red Sharpie, and he said they show up just fine. The stock M3 red needles are painted red from the factory, and they show up fine.
