    M shift knob

    werd.

Do you guys think it would be poor taste to put an M shift knob in a 325is?

Here is the one I am thinking of:

Not at all. M-Tech II steering wheels have ///M badges on them, so you having an M steering wheel should be of no concern. ///M does not just stand for Motorsport.

It shouldn't be of anyone's concern but your own in the first place.

Good point eurospeed. I do have the wheel after all - and I am going to begin putting many more "M3" parts on the "is". Such as strut housings, wheels, etc. I know many frown on the M badge on the grill. I had that on my old "e" in college. However, I love (absolutely) love the look of that knob, and I bet the feel is even better. :)

      Thank you!

I am fond of the M badge, I dont see anything wrong with it.

        M on a BMW = Fine
        M3 on a non M3 = bad

          Cool enough!

I just recall people getting shat on for it in the past - probably at other various forums I have been to. ;)

I am happy I am among "good" company here.

I think its fine to have //M Accessories, but don't play it off that it is an M3, cus it isn't. Just like the e36 M3 (US spec) isnt an M...its a 330is or 332is. :P On a side note I saw a 84 or 85 //M318i auto the other day...made me chuckle.

Yes. I am not a poser. I know the M3, and I know I do not own one...yet. :) I aways wanted an IS and now I have one! :)

Why would he try to "play it off as an M3"?
