which models came with this from the factory? m3 and IS or just an option? do they have vinyl ones? basically i need to find a rear backrest in black vinyl with the center armrest so i can install a sub in the trunk and have it flow into the car.

Accually the M3 never got the armrest.
I have found those seats more often in the early etas ('84/'85 325/325e)
They have come in vinyl, but out of the 10+ armrest seats i have come across, none have been vinyl. One guy on bimmerforums has a black vinyl one though, so I know they are out there.

my car came with the armrest... but that damn armrest/ski hole back seat is fucking heavy. must be around 50lbs. I never sit back there, the leather on the top of the seat was going bad, and I always wanted an M3 rear seat anyway.. so I threw it in the trash and put in the rear seats from my parts car (MUCH nicer leather, and waaay lighter). I kinda felt bad for tossing a "rare" part, but shipping it would cost twice what it's worth, and I didn't want to keep it around the new house.Comment
