its nice... but something about taking out the two biggest vents in the car make me uneasy about climate changes, lol.

Why don't people just use the flat area under the radio? Above the ashtray there is a perfectspot (apparently) for a fe guages. Summit sells 3 and four guage backing plates that could be fit into that area.

Vintage look that could be retrofitted

People don't like having to look that far downward away from the road to see their gauges. In the air vents is a much better location.

the only time you look at your guages is when youre cruising anyway.. not when youre ripping through canyons.. at least i dont anyway.. i drive my car enough to not have to see my tach to know when i can downshift and all that. i think the ashtray is a good place just cause i still have and use my AC all the time. so i mean.. you arent gonna be downshifting in a turn and glancing at your guages whether theyre in the vents or the ashtray... its when you slow down a little that youll take a look at your vitals.

I have the ash tray gauge pod.. yeah it's not great to look at when driving, but I mostly have it for the oil temp - I won't be driving hard until that's warmed up anyway, and once I get to that point I won't care about looking at them.

Many race drivers use dummy lights instead of gauges for their line of sight and have gauges wherever it is convienent.
