    My Sport Seat Won't Recline

Yeah, when I pull the lever on the side, it won't (reverse) recline. I tried unscrewing the two screws on the back to see what's up, but I couldn't get it off. Bummer. So, how the hell do I adjust that cable or whatever? I'm tired of letting people in on my side.

Also, a bonus question: Will Armor-All kill my seats?
Me: "I can't wait to redline my car!"
Mark: "Didn't you just break a rocker arm?"
Me: "Yeah, I don't think I've learned my lesson."
    Mark: "You never will."

Can't answer your first question, but for the second one:

Yes, Armor All will kill your leather, vinyl, plastic, rubber, etc. It will dry out and eventually crack the leather and make them slippery. I use Zaino Leather in a Bottle (Z10) and Leather Soft (Z9), but there are quite a few of good products on the market. I like Zaino for the interior, but think the exterior stuff is hyped way too much.

      Seat won't fold forward?

If you're saying that the seat won't fold forward to let people in the backseat, I had this same issue on my 88 325 ic. The issue was broken cables in the seatback. Happened on both sides.

The fix that I used: Remove seat. Pull off handles and covers from the sides of the seatback. Carefully remove the rear cover of the seat - two phillips screws at bottom corners, then slide up to release and carefully pry away from the levers. Once inside, there's a cable attached to the lever, then running across a pulley and down to the side mechanisms on the seat. Note: passenger seat has two cables (two handles, natch). I got 1/8" wire rope from Lowe's, and ferrules to match. Use the wire rope to splice in as necessary, crimp on the ferrules, be careful to keep proper tension on the cable when you crimp it so that your handles still have sufficient range of motion to release the mechanism at the bottom.

This took a little trial and error, but is a dirt cheap fix and has worked very well for months now. Good luck.
