I found on realoem.com a cabin filter but my car obviously didn't come with one and I haven't seen one that came with it. Is this only for euro or canadian e30s with no A/C or ?

That's what I gather. I guess i'll just order the filter and see if it's the exact size to fit the hole at the firewall. If it's not then i'll just use the gasket as a template for the right size "cover" to cover the whole.
One of the parts counter guys at the local dealership didn't have one on hand, but said the 92,93 cabrios came with it and it was mounted on the right size of the firewall ?

Correct, but since I don't have any of the A/C heater box under the dash there is hole there that lets everything from outside in (through the cowl vents). I was thinking about putting a filter there to let some fresh air in and let the filter block the dirt/leafs etc or i'll just close it shot. It's not getting anything in from the engine bay as the outside cover under the hood is in place.Mtech1 v8 build thread - https://www.r3vlimited.com/board/sho...d.php?t=413205

Years ago I re-installed a heater/ac box with all new gaskets, just no A/C (or cabin filter).Mtech1 v8 build thread - https://www.r3vlimited.com/board/sho...d.php?t=413205
