window switches quit

so ive been having this problem where my window switches dont turn on or light up when i start the car imedietly. sometimes it takes a few seconds, sometimes a few minuits. the longest was about 15 minuits. last night when i was putting on my hardtop they just quit when i was in the middle of putting up one of my windows. anyone have any possible causes or ideas? i need it to get to school on monday so i really need to fix it before then

Unplug the switches and plug them back in again. It might just be a bad connection.

There is a master switch that controls all 4 switches. It will be on the right side, if it is poped up it will have red around the top. Push it in and you should be good to go.

ya i looked at that messed around with it a bit but that dident change anything. i never touch it though. maby its faulty. any other ideas? they just dont seem to get any power anymore

I had the same problem plus no heat/air blower. Traced it to loose connection on the starter. Good luck!!!

just checked the "master switch" and seems to be fine. are there any other things that control power to all the switches?

and we have windows! it turns out it was a relay that went to the fuse that went to the "master switch" that went to the window switches. i feel kinda noobish for overlooking that:(

Wishno87 Where was the relay that went to all that located? under the dash? I have a similar issue with a 92 vert. no Blower or lights on switches either?
Checked the unloaders at the fuse panel and they seem fine too.

well it still happens once in a while so when it happens i just pop the hood and take off the fuse/relay box cover and tap on all the relays and they turn on again. i will have to check them to tell you the exact one but im working on my senior project right now so i will have to do that later tonight.

so it seems to be relay K5 that fixed it for me. its on page 52 of the electrical system section of the bently manuel. hope thats helpful

I see. I jumped the 30 and 87 and they work to get them up or down. I checked the starter and everything seems fine. I swapped with the horn relay which seemed identical and it stopped working. So I don't think the relay is bad on mine.
