    Installing Rear Headrests?

I so far have everything to pull this off except i am not sure how i go about installing them.

Do any of you know of how to do this.

I have a spare backseat backrest and spare headrest and brackets that i can use to test with so thats no problem there which is good so if i screw up on that one i know not to do it on my cars backrest for the backseat.

One of my main concerns is that will there be any welding necassary to get it to install correctly?

Walk me through this guys. It seems pretty straight forward. Punch holes out for the headrest, stick the black round guides through the new holes put in plastic washers and so on.

    Anything will be of help.

    TIA

No. there is no welding necessary. It's pretty easy to do IIRC. Cut holes in the top, mount the brackets in the back (where there are cutouts) and then do the install. It shouldn't be too hard to figure out.

How do i get the brackets off my junk non sports?

Both of the donors came from the same car as the back seat did so that is a plus there i guess. :)

I think you have to use back seat headrest brackets, not parts from front seats...

can you add back headrests onto any car? I mean are there already slots to hold the headrests in place?

I know you can to any non-cab/non-m3.

You just need rear headrest brackets and the rear headrests. I've done it before. You can PM me if you have any questions.

you can add rear head rest to any e30, holes are predrilled., once bracket is installed, use a long screwdriver, insert through bracket and poke a small hole on seat, carefuly then enlarge it, add groomets and insert head rests, 30 minuts at most.

By brackets you mean the piece of metal linking the two prongs, right?
Also, how do I go about installing these exactly? From the trunk?
                        Thanks.

You have to remove the back seat and then you bolt the brackets in to the back of the rear seat back. Then you poke holes through the top and install the plastic gromets.

OT...Were there any e30's that came with rear head rests?

I bought leather seats out of a 325is and it already had holes for me to drop head rests right in there, just wondering if someone modded it before I got them or not?

euro cars had them as an option.
somebody messed with yours, they didnt come standard on US spec cars.

I do not particularly like them. They block to much rearward visibilty. And I never have passengers in the rear.
