    non E30 3series floor mats in a E30?

Would E36. or E46 floor mats work inside an E30? they look pretty close but I have no experence with trying this. And coming from a subaru community where almost everything works from newier body style to older including mats.

it looks like it would fit.

I bought a general set from Autozone or something and they fit fine. They dont fit like OEM around the gas pedal but its something you'll get used to. If you've got a set to try or a buddies car to try them from then do it. But from just looking based on internet pictures I wouldn't trust it.

I had E28 mats in mine. Fit was weird but it worked.
E30 mats fit and look the best though.

I just scored some mats off ebay. the guy said it was from a 79 bmw 3 series? it looks just like E30 floor mats... esp the passenger side the rears look the same.

anyone know if E21 floor mats are the same as E30?

                      Back from the dead....

I tried the rubber OEM mats out of my moms E46 touring and they were too wide. Would probably work with some trimming but who wants to trim $90 floor mats?

Rob, rubber OEM mats typically run too wide because they're meant to cover every last possible square each of space intended in the foot well area.

I've used regular e46 mats in both of my e30s & they work just fine & they look like an OEM fit.

Good info mike, I hadn't thought of that, I actually really like the functionality of the rubber mats so thats why I tried them.

Old thread, but has anyone tried e82 (1 series) floor mats in an e30? Have a chance to buy some cheap oem ones.
