The new instrument cluster mod for my e30.

The other day I was poking around the junkyard and stumbled upon a t-boned e32 735i. While looking around it for stuff I might have a use for I noted that the instruments were still more or less intact. The "glass" over the cluster was broken, so I didnt feel bad about just taking the needles.

Anyways I got them home, and did some quick test fits on my e30. The shafts are too big for a e30. I had to custom graft the e30 shafts onto the e32 needles. All in all in came out great. Night time illumination is much much better, and they help to update the look of the cluster a bit more.

Sorry no night time pics, and there won't be. The lighting simply will not come out true to life on my camera. I've tried.

AFAIK e32/e34/e36 needles are all the same. Perhaps other cars of that generation also shared them but those ones I'm fairly certain of.

It's actually plastic, and it's not sold as one piece. It only comes attached to a new cluster, it's glued on. If yours isn't, it was removed before.
Try to find a good condtion used one, pull of the face, and re-glue it to yours.
